John Mugonya

John is an Agribusiness professional by training with BSc in Agriculture from Makerere University and MSc in Agri-enterprises Development from Gulu University.

John has a decade of experience in banking and finance, livelihoods development, agri-enterprises development and international agricultural research.  John has expertly facilitated agribusiness programmes, projects, and research across Sub-Saharan Africa in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Somalia, working with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRSAT), Centenary Bank, and Caritas Kampala.  John is the 2019 recipient of the Young Graduate Scholars Fellowship awarded by the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), South Africa, and the 2017 recipient of the TAGDev scholarship by the MasterCard Foundation and RUFORUM. He is a recipient of the RUFORUM Innovation Products to Markets (IPM-FAPA) award.  John is passionate about the social protection of people in socially, economically, and environmentally fragile situations.
